The power feed system of the 21 year old submarine cable FARICE-1 was recently upgraded to the newest generation from the supplier Spellman High Voltage (https://www.spellmanhv.com/en/). Although the submarine cable shows no sign of ageing an upgrade of the power system was undertaken to ensure the best possible operation for the cable in the coming years. The operation, that took place simulatenously in three locations, went well with only 5 hours of non-service. FARICE-1 is a system of two fiber pairs with a maximum capacity of 10 Terabits/s.
